In a new undercover investigation, PETA, the animal rights group, alleges they recorded serious animal cruelty violations taking place at what PETA calls a parakeet mill. Hidden camera footage taken by PETA and shared exclusively with INSIDE EDITION allegedly shows thousands of parakeets packed into crowded cages at Creekside Birds, a parakeet breeding facility in rural Oklahoma. PETA investigators claim sick and dying birds were denied proper veterinary care. PETA also says their undercover investigator recorded some Creekside workers describing how they would kill birds deemed too ill to sell. PETA alleges that some birds bred there are shipped through a nationwide so-called "parakeet pipeline" that supplies birds to some pet stores across the country. Creekside Birds did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
