After several days of heavy rain, a large low area next to the pond filled with standing water again. Last year I said I was going to fix it by digging a swale or installing drainage pipe… but that project never happened. So this year I'm back out here using a 3-inch trash pump moving over 260 gallons per minute to drain the flooded area before it turns into stagnant water that could damage the pond ecosystem. In this video I show: • How much water accumulated around the pond • The trash pump setup I'm using • Where the water gets discharged • How much water we actually pumped out • Why I avoid sending this dirty water back into the pond By the end of the project we moved tens of thousands of gallons of water and reduced the flooded area dramatically. Next year the real fix may finally happen… a drainage swale or pipe to permanently eliminate the problem.
