For years, I managed this pond with a DIY mix of pond dye, beneficial bacteria, algae control, and a lot of trial and error. It worked okay, but I’m realizing that clear pond water really comes down to treating the pond as a complete system. In this video, I’m using the Airmax ClearPAC Plus system from The Pond Guy, along with EcoBoost PRx, PondClear, MuckAway, pond dye, and algae-control products. The basic idea is simple: reduce sunlight, reduce available nutrients, support beneficial bacteria, and help break down muck and organic debris. If you’re wondering how to keep a pond clear, how to prevent pond algae, or what products can help with pond water clarity, this video walks through the full routine I’m using on my pond. Full disclosure: I’m working with The Pond Guy on this project and they sent these products for me to try. I’ll be doing a follow-up later this summer to show how the pond looks after the heat of July and August really kicks in.
