Episode # 303 In this exciting episode I go over the Flex 24volt 1 inch SDS Rotary Hammer Drill. I put it threw some testing and go over all the features.

About This Video

In this episode I’m putting the FLEX 24V 1-inch SDS rotary hammer through some real testing, not just talking about it on a bench. Right out of the gate, this thing is a freaking beast—about 980 RPM and roughly 4,600 blows per minute. I go over the kit and the features I actually care about, like the quick-release setup and the fact it comes with two chucks: the SDS chuck and a standard drill chuck. That’s huge because if you don’t have a bit in SDS, you can still run a regular bit without messing around. Then I drill concrete block with a range of bits, from smaller sizes up to a 5/8" x 18" long bit, and I also show chipping with a spike tip. With the 10Ah stacked lithium battery, it’s noticeably faster and just chews through the block “like butter.” I also compare it to a smaller 20V SDS-style hammer and you can see it can do the job, but it’s got a lot more vibration. Bottom line: the FLEX works really well, and if you can catch it on clearance like I did (under $200 vs $300 retail), it’s a no-brainer to at least take a hard look at it.
