About This Video

In this video, I’m doing a little taste test with Stella (my miniature dachshund) to see which fruits and veggies she actually likes. I recently shared what I feed her day-to-day (she’s on kibble), and because she used to have stomach issues, I didn’t give her much “human food” at all. Even something as simple as a bit of shredded carrot used to upset her tummy and make her throw up, so I’ve always been super cautious. Now that Stella’s doing a lot better and doesn’t seem to have a sensitive stomach anymore, I’m slowly trying to incorporate small amounts of dog-friendly fruits and vegetables. I did some quick Googling and picked five options to try in tiny pieces: blueberry, spinach, carrot, strawberry, and apple. We test them one by one (while I attempt—and fail—to keep everything on a plate and off my white sheets), and it’s pretty clear she has favourites. Carrot was a huge hit, apple went down great too, spinach was a bit “meh” but she finished it, and strawberry was the one she seemed most cautious about (I think because it’s a little sour).
