Dog Stairs: https://amzn.to/3AwpT3d Dachshunds are prone to IVDD, a disease that injures the discs in their spine. One way to prevent this from happening to your dog is with dog ramps and stairs. But is it REALLY necessary? Some might say no, but I think it absolutely is. In this video I talk about what IVDD is, how to prevent, it and my favourite products that help. ↡MY SHOP: HAZEL HOUND PET WEAR↡ Website: https://geni.us/iREfO ↡PUPPY PLANNERS, PRESETS, AND FREEBIES↡ https://www.hollyobee.com/shop ↡MY FAVOURITE PRODUCTS↡ https://www.hollyobee.com/my-favourite-products ↡FOLLOW ME AND STELLA↡ Holly’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hollyobee/?hl=en Stella’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stellatheminidox/?hl=en ↡MUSIC↡ https://www.epidemicsound.com ↡CONTACT↡ Email: hollyobeebusiness@gmail.com Website: https://hollyobee.com

About This Video

When I first started researching dachshunds, one of the biggest “wait, really?” moments was reading that they shouldn’t be jumping off beds and couches. I honestly thought people were being overly cautious… and then I learned about IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) and why doxies’ long backs + short legs make them more at risk. In this video I break down why, in my opinion, dog stairs and ramps are absolutely necessary if your dachshund is allowed on furniture. I explain what IVDD is (basically the discs in your dog’s back can rupture or shift) and the symptoms I always want people to watch for—things like moving slower, dragging feet, not acting like themselves, and obvious pain. I also share the main prevention habits I focus on: using ramps/stairs to reduce impact from jumping, keeping weight in check, and keeping your dachshund strong and active (walks, agility, etc.). Then I get into the practical part: what types of stairs/ramps I use in my house, what I like aesthetically (because yes… having ramps everywhere isn’t exactly “decor”), and the pros/cons of DIY ramps versus buying one. I also show my favorite stairs that look cute, can be adjusted, fold up, and even double as storage—because I’m all about anything that makes dachshund life easier and safer.
