Tea Party Mobilizations and the Future of America's Generationally Uneven Welfare State

Lecture by Theda Skocpol at the Holberg Prize Symposium 2011. Theda Skocpol is the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology at Harvard University. At Harvard, she has served as Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and as Director of the Center for American Political Studies. Skocpol's work covers an unusually broad spectrum of topics including both comparative politics and American politics. Skocpol's current research focuses on social policy changes during the Obama presidency; the Tea Party movement in the United States; and the development of higher education in cross-national perspective.
