In this video I’m taking a hard look at the HansMaker F1 Pro, a 20W fiber laser that’s trying to hit that sweet spot: real metal marking performance without the industrial price tag. I walk through the basics of what you’re actually getting, how the machine is laid out, and what setup looks like for a typical small shop or garage workflow. I also show how I configure it in LightBurn Pro, because if the software setup is painful, it doesn’t matter how good the hardware is. From there I run a bunch of real-world engraving tests across the materials people actually care about—brass, aluminum, stainless, acrylic, and slate—so you can see what it does well and where the limits are. I also push into more aggressive jobs like deep brass engraving, color marking on stainless, and even cutting thin steel sheet to see how far a “consumer” fiber laser can go. The big takeaway is whether this is a legit option for hobbyists and small businesses in 2025 that need portable, repeatable metal work without jumping straight to a full industrial system.
