Elgato dropped the grown-up version of the Stream Deck Plus, and I couldn’t not mess with it. In this video I unbox the Stream Deck + XL (yes… it’s basically the Mario mushroom upgrade), then jump straight onto the PC to wire it up with Wave Link 3.0 so it becomes the command center for my whole audio setup. I’m moving house so the set is a bit dodgy, but the setup is clean: personal mix, stream mix, mic level, and then the fun stuff. I show you how I map the Stream Deck dials to control overall mix outputs (what I hear vs what stream hears), plus individual sources like system audio, capture card (4K S), voice chat, and music. If you’ve only got four dials, I demo Dial Stacks so one dial can flip between multiple channels without wasting space. Then we get into the spicy bits: one-tap toggles (or hold-to-use) for effects like Voice Focus, reverb, and goofy voice modifiers, plus multi-actions to switch microphones (Wave DX to headset mic) without the “both mics on” nightmare. I also cover quick mutes, swapping headphones vs speakers via output control, and a couple workflow ideas like routing soundboard/music through Wave Link or recording raw backup audio alongside OBS. The goal is simple: stop clicking around mid-stream and control everything instantly.
