Last weekend we hosted the first ever Whiskeytown 4 Corners Paddle Challenge with the Shasta Paddlers kayak club. The goal was to paddle the 4 corners of Whiskeytown Lake. Starting in the West we launched at Oak Bottom Marina and paddled through the Islands to Brandy Creek Marina in the South. Next we made the big 3 mile crossing all the way to the East where the old highway dumps into the lake. Next we paddled back West and before heading North under 299 to the Whiskey Creek Boatramp in the North. Here we had snacks and a stretch. The last segment was a slog back to Oak Bottom. The total trip was just under 12 miles. Not a lot by endurance standards, but for our club with several newer paddlers it was a great challenge! The after party was hosted by Fall River Brewery and everyone who completed the challenge got a free Pint on the house! Be sure to catch our next paddle on New Years Day here at Whiskeytown Lake. ========================================= Thank for joining us today Please do not forget to subscribe and drop us a like! ========================================= For more information head over to http://www.headwaterskayak.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/headwaterskayak/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/headwaterskayak/?hl=en
