This episode of Fix or Flop is one of those “it’s broken… but it won’t break for me” situations. The viewer’s PC was allegedly shutting off randomly with no warning, and after multiple trips to Best Buy (PSU swap, “GPU swap,” storage talk, BIOS update), the problem was still happening. So I did what I always do: I verified everything myself. I powered it on, checked temps, and went straight into stress testing because I’m not going to stare at an idle desktop for hours hoping it dies on camera. I ran Prime95 and FurMark together for way longer than planned (yeah… about an hour) and the system stayed stable. GPU temps and hotspot were in a reasonable range for FurMark, and the Ryzen 5 3600 behaved normally under torture load. Since I couldn’t reproduce the shutdown, I started looking for “outside the scope” issues—power strip/outlet problems—or something subtle inside the case. That’s when I found two real problems: a 12V power cable at the PSU side that wasn’t seated flush (which is a big deal), and the motherboard not properly aligned on the center standoff. I fixed both, tightened things up, and sent it off as stable—because if it’s not readily repeatable, it’s not something I can readily fix.
