It’s finally time for one of my absolute favorite holiday traditions: bundling up and taking the dogs to the tree farm to pick out a real Christmas tree. We’ve been doing this on the channel since we started, so this is technically the 17th time we’ve documented it, and it never gets old. Memphis was on the move like she had a mission (sweet senior girl still leading the charge), Kira was convinced there were critters hiding under the snow, and Eleanor was very much in the “um… no thank you” stage when things got loud. We browsed the pre-cut trees, laughed at the little Charlie Brown tree, and let the girls “pick” the one that was just right (and yes, there was a moment where they picked one that definitely wouldn’t fit). Back at home, we let the tree open back up after being in the garage, and then came the best part: decorating. Memphis did her yearly job of helping wrap the lights by running circles around the tree, we handed out apple slices as a snack, and we topped it all off with our sentimental Shiloh tree topper and the 2025 ornament. Real trees smell amazing, the lights look so cool at night, and honestly… I’m just hoping we can skip the fence around the bottom this year.
