Happy 7th Birthday Kira! Pink Princess Apple & Honey Dog Cake It is a very special day at the Snow Dogs house because our dramatic and athletic girl, Kira, is turning seven years old! To celebrate her big day, we are heading into the kitchen to bake a beautiful Pink Princess Birthday Cake. Since apples are Kira's absolute favorite treat, we made sure to pack this recipe with fresh shredded apples and sweet Michigan honey. Watch as Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor help with the "whiskey business" and see if they can resist the temptation of peanut butter straight from the spoon! It’s a day full of celebration, messy faces, and making wonderful memories with our girls. Pink Princess Apple Cake for Dogs Ingredients 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour (or All-Purpose Flour for a fluffier texture) 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda (Floof Powder!) 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (optional) 1 Large Egg (we used a farm fresh egg) 1/4 cup Unsweetened Coconut Cooking Oil (Olive Oil works too) 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional) 1/4 cup Xylitol-Free Peanut Butter 1/4 cup Honey 1 cup Shredded Apples (approximately 2 apples) Whipped Cream Cheese (for the frosting) Pink Beet Juice or Dog-Safe Food Coloring (for the pink frosting) HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY 🎂 Celebrating Kira's 7th birthday with a custom pink cake 🥣 The girls helping out with the "whiskey business" in the kitchen 🥜 Peanut butter tasting straight from the spoon (Eleanor got some on her face!) 🍎 The ultimate "Apple Crunch" test with Memphis and the pack 🏗️ Stacking and frosting the two-tier princess cake with pink cream cheese 😋 The birthday girl taking a giant "illegal" first bite of her cake ✨ Memphis and Eleanor joining in on the party to help clean up the crumbs What should we bake for Memphis’s 13th birthday on April 4th? About This Video

Guess what we’re doing today? It’s somebody’s birthday! Miss Kira turned seven on March 13th, so I headed into the kitchen to make her a pretty pink princess apple-and-honey birthday cake… because apples are absolutely her favorite. In this video, I walk you through the whole DIY dog cake from start to finish—preheating the oven to 350, mixing the dry ingredients (including “floof powder,” a.k.a. baking soda), and then doing the “whiskey business” to get everything whisked together. We mix up the wet ingredients with a farm fresh egg, coconut cooking oil (olive oil works too), optional vanilla, xylitol-free peanut butter, Michigan honey (because we from Michigan), and a full cup of shredded apples. Then I bake the batter in mini 4-inch pans, do the toothpick test, cool everything, and stack it into a cute two-tier cake. For frosting, I use whipped cream cheese and tint it pink for that fairy-princess look. And yes… Kira totally tried to take an “illegal” first bite while I was trying to get a thumbnail. Reminder though: this is a treat, not a meal replacement—small slices only, even on birthdays!
