About This Video

In this video I did something a little different—I built a gaming PC with a partner. My friend Jas (Josh) is 14 and he’s been gaming on a laptop, so we put together a real desktop around a roughly $1,000 budget that can handle schoolwork, Fortnite, Minecraft, and even heavier stuff like Warzone. I walk through the parts, why we picked them, and then we get hands-on with the full build: CPU install (and yes, AMD pins can be stressful), cooler mounting, RAM seating, the I/O shield, and getting the board into the case without fighting the standoffs all day. We also hit the practical stuff that matters in real builds—cable orientation, why semi-modular PSUs are mostly about cleanliness (not “extra performance”), and how PCIe slots let you add upgrades like a Wi‑Fi card without needing some special socket. Then we get to the fun part: GPU install, first boot, and RGB testing (including the classic “unicorn barf”). The big takeaway is this: building a PC is way simpler than people think, you learn what every component does, and you can save a ton of money if you’re willing to be a little patient on the first build.
