About This Video

In this video I review the Fractal Design North and answer the big question: is this the best case of 2023? I break it down the same way I look at any workflow-first build component—Aesthetics, features, compatibility, and then the actual build experience. The North has four panels, including a glass side panel and a really clean front panel with a fine mesh filter behind real wood strips (oak on the white version, walnut on the black). Fractal also nailed the little details like the leather strap and, honestly, the overall sturdiness—this doesn’t feel flimsy like a lot of cheaper cases. On the compatibility side, I go through fan and radiator support (up to 360mm front, 240mm top, 120mm rear), ATX motherboard support, and storage options (two 2.5" mounts plus two 3.5" bays that can also be SSDs). I also talk PSU length limits (155mm with both drive cages, up to ~255mm if you remove one) and cooler clearance (170mm—so even big towers like an NH-D15 fit). After building in it, my takeaway is simple: it’s surprisingly easy to work in, cable management is excellent with grommets/velcro/raceways, and it blends into a room like furniture while still keeping performance and airflow in mind.
