Recently a stock trader reached out to me asking if I can build a PC for him. In this video, I explain the updated parts in this trading PC build. This is a BEAST of a computer with its updated performance and aesthetics. Enjoy!

About This Video

In this video I’m building a 2023 stock trading PC for a client who wanted an updated look and better performance than my last trading build. His main apps were Thinkorswim, Tastyworks, and NinjaTrader, so I spec’d the system around how those programs actually behave. NinjaTrader benefits from multi-threading, while Thinkorswim is the most demanding and leans heavily on strong single-thread boost—so I went with the Ryzen 7 5800X for that sustained 4.6–4.7GHz-ish single-core behavior while still giving you 8 cores for the multi-threaded side. For memory, I chose 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL because Thinkorswim can chew through around 16GB by itself, and I wanted headroom for the other platforms plus Chrome tabs and news feeds. The client also wanted four monitors (including a couple of massive 49-inch panels), so I explained the key point: GPUs care about resolution, not physical size. That’s why I used an NVIDIA Quadro T600—small, reliable, and it gives me four mini DisplayPort outputs. Cooling is where trading PCs live or die because these machines run 12–18 hours a day. The 5800X spikes hot fast, so I used a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 instead of an AIO to avoid pump failure down the road, and I put it all in a Corsair 4000D Airflow (Meshify-style airflow concept) with extra fans and a quick fog test to prove the airflow is doing its job.
