This was performed on my Singleton Drums 14x6 Beech stave shell snare with Ahead S-hoops on the batter. All audio was recorded using two top mics on the snare - a Beyerdynamic M201 and an Earthworks DM20 - with an Audix i5 on the snare bottom. I also used an Earthworks overhead and one additional mic out in the room to capture some space. There’s just very light compression and EQ across the mix, and everything is kept consistent so you’re hearing the real differences between each head.
