In this video I decided to mash up two of my favourite things: a good old art experiment and that ridiculously lush Gustav Klimt vibe. I start with a proper brain-dump moment—looking at what actually makes Klimt feel like Klimt (gold, decorative patterns, rich layers, and that Art Nouveau “everything is fancy” energy), then I crack on with my gelli plate to see if I can get anywhere near that look without needing a studio full of posh supplies. I’m building the prints up in layers, playing with metallic paints, popping in gold details, and using texture tricks to get that depth that makes the finished piece feel more “designed” and less like a random blob (although… I do love a random blob when it behaves).
