In this video I swap my usual resin chaos for something a bit more gothic and painty, and I tell the tragic little story of Elisabeth Poulter — the witch who loses her beloved on Valentine’s Day and then returns every Halloween to lay a single red rose. I build the whole scene like a dark fairytale: sketch first, then layered watercolour washes, then I creep in with moody shadows and tiny symbolic details that make the story feel… heavier. It’s one of those pieces where every layer changes the mood, and I’m absolutely here for that. I take you through my process from the first watery layers to the final highlights and reveal (with plenty of waffling, obviously), and I also hide a few bits for you to spot — including cats, because I can’t help myself.
