In this video, I’m sharing my colored square string portrait of a couple—perfect if you want to immortalize a wedding moment in thread art. I work on a 20-inch green MDF square board (17 mm thick) and build the portrait using multi-colored polyester threads (weight 80 / Tex 18) in cyan, red, yellow, white, and black. I also talk through the practical side of the process—what I use for nails (6 mm cable clip nails) and how I approach a clean, sturdy finish so the portrait looks premium when it’s finally displayed. Along with the artwork itself, I walk you through framing and packing the string portrait for shipping—both within the country and outside. I show how I protect the piece using thermocol, how a shadow box helps with presentation and safety, and why I prefer using a wooden crate for secure packing during transit.
