In this video I discuss my opinion of the Shure MV7i USB microphone with built-in audio interface. This is the 4th version of Shure's MV7 line and my least favorite. Shure has made a device that really doesn't make much sense to me because you can buy a two-channel audio interface and microphone for much cheaper than $349 USD. Even if you want some processing, there are interfaces like the Lewitt Connect 2, Focusrite Vocaster Two, among others that will give you the ability to process the audio. Pair one of those audio interfaces with a microphone like the Zoom ZDM-1 and I bet you'll get a comparable or possibly better sound than the MV7i. I can't say that I've heard anyone clamoring for this style of device. You'll often see people on the hunt for the best XLR/USB combo mic since the versatility is highly requested. I've never heard anyone ask for connecting a mic to another mic. The demand simply isn't there for a product like this, especially at the $349 USD launch price. What are your thoughts?
