BlueAVS sent me their BlueCaster Two for the purpose of this review. The BlueCaster Two is a 2-in 4-out audio interface that’s compatible with all major DAWs. AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK: https://amzn.to/4eACDtT blueAVS Website: https://blueavs.com/products/bluecaster-two NOT SCARED MOVIE LINK: Follow the Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/61574246856178/ SUPPORT THE PROJECT AND GET YOUR NAME IN THE CREDITS - NotScaredMovie.com PRICE: BlueCaster 2 has a suggested retail price of $119.99, but currently retails for $99.99 on Amazon and even cheaper on the blueAVS website. BUILD: The blueCaster Two has a pretty decent weight and feel to it. The knobs are rock solid and the buttons have a satisfying press to them. LAYOUT: On the top of the unit we have the two large gain knobs, two pad and two mute buttons. There’s the monitor output knob. 4 more knobs controlling the PC mix and headphones. Plus two buttons controlling the monitoring format (mono, stereo, and crossfeed). On the back of the device we have a power on/off switch, two USB ports (power and USB connectivity), a loopback button, two 1/4" headphone jacks, two 1/4" monitor out jacks, 4 more buttons consisting of two instrument/line level and two 48V phantom power. Then of course you have the two combo XLR inputs. SPECS: The blueCaster Two is 24-Bit 192kHz, and has a dynamic range of 103dB. The combo jacks provide 50dB of gain for mics, and support mics, line-level sources, and instruments. Of course there’s zero-latency monitoring offering mono, stereo, and crossfeed options. Crossfeed is able to correct the false stereo imaging crossing signals of the channels on both ears with level and time difference. TESTS: Mute button Shure SM7B You do not want to go past 3 o’clock PROS: Excellent feature set for a budget device Solid build quality Mute/Pad functionality 4 Outputs The ability to monitor in mono, stereo, or crossfeed Loud headphone output Loopback Power Switch Bus powered on most computers I love the visual cues (buttons red when engaged - gain dots- USB icon) The ability to mix PC sound and direct monitoring CONS: 50dB gain max NOTES: 9996 error code during loopback Overall: The blueCaster Two both looks the part, and functions like an audio interface worth having on your desk. I’ve had my PodTrak 2 as a fixture on my desk since I got it (outside of reviews and secretly testing an upcoming interface). However the blueCaster Two hasn’t left me lacking at all. In fact, it’s going to be strange taking out of my workflow. If you’re comfortable with the mic gain limitations then the blueCaster Two is a solid, full-featured, budget choice in the two input category.
