MOVO PHANTOM AFFILIATE LINK: https://www.movophoto.com/products/phantom-usb-interface?sca_ref=7017988.MsG4szUHVoFjk AMAZON MIC & INTERFACE BUNDLE: https://amzn.to/4hpTZZr AMAZON INTERFACE ONLY: https://amzn.to/48C8Z2s In this video I review MOVO's Phantom audio interface. The MOVO Phantom has a USB-C port with mix-minus enabled which allows you to make phone calls using your cell phone with the device! This is a huge feature that I've requested for years. Very few sub $150 audio interfaces can do that (at the time of this recording I can think of two). The preamps of the MOVO Phantom are very clean (as long as you don't max them out) and don't color the sound much if at all. Although the gain range leaves a lot to be desired only providing 50dB (with about 40 of it being usable without introducing a lot of noise). Paired with MOVO's UM6 microphone (which has a built-in mic booster, the unit shines. You can also pair it with any condenser microphone and benefit from the clean preamps. The accent lighting is a nice touch. You have seven colors, with 3 different intensity settings, plus off. Red is not one of the primary accent colors which I find to be odd, however red appears when you press the monitor button in and it functions as a mute button for the monitors. Overall, the MOVO Phantom is a solid audio interface that excels in many areas but is lacking in one important one, gain. If MOVO can up the gain range to 65dB or so, it would be more than enough to drive the gain hungry Shure SM7B. I'll give MOVO a free idea: Add the GainCast (builit-in mic booster) feature directly to your next audio interface. You can raise the price to cover the cost of implementation and satisfy a much wider audience who will undoubtedly have some members who prefer the SM7B. Thanks to MOVO to sending me this unit to review. PAIRED IN THIS VIDEO: Audio Interface: MOVO Phantom Microphone: MOVO UM6 with GainCast enabled
