I'm restoring a pipe vise in this restoration video. I bought this vise on eBay classifieds for 15 €. This old tool has double paint on it, but otherwise it still looks pretty good. For this restoration I stripped off the paint, washed all components, worked with a wire brush, and applied primer and topcoats. In this video, about the restoration of the old pipe vise, I put more energy into the cut and effects, do you like it? ▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I just had to knock out a bolt with a pin punch to get all the parts. I remove the paint with paint stripper, this pipe vise has been painted twice, with a wire brush and a cordless screwdriver with a steel wire wheel I help after the exposure time. Now all surfaces are masked and primer and spray paint are applied. The remaining surfaces are preserved with hammer finish paint. The lever and the small bolt are coated with quick bluing and thus protected from external influences. After the thread has received grease, the old pipe vise is reassembled. ▬ Good to know ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I used the following tools: hammer, wire brush, cordless screwdriver, steel wire attachment, quick bluing, brush, grease, sandpaper, paint stripper, soap, water, pin punch, brush (turtle), file, tape, primer, black spray paint, hammer finish paint, toothpick It took me about 8 hours to restore, without the paint drying time. ▬ Chapter ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 Show the old pipe vise 0:33 Disassembly 1:21 Remove colors with paint stripper and wire brush 2:47 Wash off components 3:16 File and brush parts 4:51 Masking for painting 5:07 Apply primer 5:29 Apply spray paint 6:03 Apply hammer finish paint and color characters white 7:30 Treat some components with quick bluing 8:16 Assemble all parts 9:03 Before and after of the vise 9:58 Check function of pipe vise ▬ Did you like it? ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Did you like the video?
