Mini Cleaver [Black Blade, Ebony Handle & Brass Pins]

In this video, I transform an old circular saw blade into a fully functional mini cleaver – featuring a custom handle made from leftover ebony wood and self-made brass pins! 🔥 🔥 What to Expect? ✔️ Shaping the Blade – I cut out the basic cleaver shape from a worn circular saw blade using an angle grinder and refined the profile by hand. ✔️ Drilling & Layout – I drilled holes for the brass pins and a decorative hanging hole, just like a full-size cleaver. ✔️ Symmetrical Edge Grind – I scribed the centerline and ground both bevels precisely down to the mark for a clean, even edge. ✔️ Hardening & Tempering – The blade was heat-treated with a torch, quenched in oil, and tempered three times in the oven. ✔️ Brass Pins – I turned two custom pins on the lathe from solid brass stock. ✔️ Ebony Handle – I shaped two scales from leftover ebony, sanded the contact surfaces flat, and glued everything with 2-part epoxy. ✔️ Finishing Touches – The blade was cold-blued to a deep black tone and the handle sealed with shellac for a smooth, elegant finish. ✔️ Sharpening – Finally, I sharpened the cleaver – and it's ready to shine!
