I’m getting ready for an ugly sweater party, and instead of buying something new (no thank you), I grabbed my husband’s old shirt that I literally had listed for sale and decided to make it my size. I turned it inside out, started “grab-and-go” fitting it to my body, and used safety pins because I’m not risking open pins anywhere near my face—my body has been through enough surgeries, I’m not adding “stabbed myself for a party outfit” to the list. No measurements, because I’m not really into math, and honestly this whole thing is supposed to be fun. I sewed it up in the laziest, most realistic way: I didn’t detach the sleeves and reattach them (absolutely not), so you get that kind of “domain sleeves” look when you just sew it all together. And you know what? I’m happy with how it came out. For the actual outfit, I styled it with my signature leggings + high socks, arm warmers I made years ago from old socks, and a headband I made from my grandma’s old nightgown.
