About This Video

Today was one of those “I literally have no time” days—I had to be in the city fast, so I kept it super simple and focused on getting out the door. I didn’t do a big chatty makeup moment (I even joked I might just voiceover it), because the real excitement was the outfit reveal at the end. Also yes, I was running late (always), and yes, I did that silly thing where I picked at a little whitehead and immediately regretted it. The star of this video is me finally wearing the jacket I upcycled from my grandma’s blanket. After you guys scared the crap out of me saying it was going to fall apart, I took it seriously and reinforced it the night before with a brown zigzag stitch all around the arm hole. I paired it with monster heels so it wouldn’t drag on the floor—because apparently I love making city walking harder than it needs to be. The best part: at the event, people thought it was custom-made for my body, and when I told them it was my grandma’s blanket turned jacket, they were genuinely impressed. Moral of the story: go where you’re appreciated, not tolerated.
