In this update of my “Pan Those Eyeshadow Palettes 2020” project, I’m checking in on how the panning is going and making a few changes so it actually works for me. I started with six palettes (honestly by accident—I meant to do five), and I realized pretty quickly that randomly picking shades isn’t the vibe if the goal is to hit pan. If I’m trying to hit pan, I need to choose shades I’ll realistically use often, not something random that I’ll avoid. So I’m officially removing the Huda Beauty New Nudes from this round, and I may bring it back later with more “me” shades. The big win: I hit pan in the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice palette—actually on both shades I was working on (Figgy Pudding and Powdered Sugar), which made me so happy. Going forward, I’m also changing how I do updates: I’m only filming an update when I hit pan in a palette, because monthly “no progress” updates are boring and just make me feel pressured instead of using my makeup organically. I also show where I’m at with ColourPop Yes Please, Violet Voss Coral Crush, ABH Sultry, and the Jaclyn Hill palette, then roll in ColourPop It’s My Pleasure with Kittenfish and Earthshine—because yes, I needed some purple in my life.
