In this video I’m doing one of my favorite yearly traditions: my surprise Christmas gift unboxing haul from Alex—aka my “best friend that I’ve never met.” We met through YouTube, we’ve supported each other for years, and for the last few years we’ve been sending each other big makeup boxes every Christmas. This year she made it extra curated and numbered everything like “12 gifts of Christmas,” and I unbox it all on camera (with family noise in the background, no nails, and me just being real). I also have to say it: I’ve been dealing with depression a bit, and filming something joyful like this is exactly what I needed. I go through each gift, swatch a bunch of shades, and share first impressions as I open everything—from lip products and powders to indie singles, a magnetic palette, glitter liquid shadows, and some bigger palette surprises. A couple things arrived a little broken (it happens), but I’ll repress them—Alex even has a repressing tutorial on her channel. Overall, this is a feel-good makeup unboxing with lots of eyeshadow talk, honest reactions, and a big reminder of why I love the community side of YouTube.
