About This Video

Okay, this one was a little cathartic. In this video I’m going through a handful of disappointing products and straight-up makeup regrets—things I was excited to try, that ended up being a total letdown once I actually used them. I’m talking skincare fails, makeup that didn’t perform the way it claims, and a couple purchases that made me extra salty because when you’re on a budget (or low buy), a bad product feels like it stole your “fun money.” I start with the product that truly inspired the whole video: the Indeed Laboratories Watermelon Melting Balm. The scent is chemical-y and gross, it separates, and worst of all it clings to my skin so I have to rinse four times and still go in with a cleanser. I also chat about a Nivea SPF moisturizer that’s just way too fragranced and never fully settles, plus an Essence brush-tip liner that looks shiny, sheer, and more grey than black compared to my NYX matte liquid liner. Then we get into bigger regrets: a Morphe palette that was brutally hard to blend and had glitters that wouldn’t stick even with glitter glue, a cannabis-seed-oil eye gel that dried out my under eyes, a weird Drunk Elephant sunscreen with white specks that wouldn’t break down, and an Estée Lauder “radiant” concealer that’s thick but somehow still sheer and patchy. My takeaway: packaging and hype don’t matter—performance does.
