Tonight’s stream was Part 4 of me being absolutely bullied by RESIDENT EVIL 9: REQUIEM (thanks again for the review code, CAPCOM). We started off with the stream trying to implode (again), and I finally tracked it down: it was the NDI the whole time. Once I killed that problem, everything cleaned up and I did the smartest thing possible: I did NOT touch anything else. Quit while we’re ahead, chicky baby. From there it was pure Resident Evil chaos: RE2 vibes everywhere (the jack, the bookcase-style progress, the orphanage energy), and then the game hits you with this gross little-kid clone horror sequence that is genuinely nasty. I’m talking bald clone kids, hiding spots, eyes turning red, shadows on boxes—Capcom is out here doing Bioshock-level storytelling with the level design. I’m also connecting the lore in real time (like a dumb fat ass) while Leon is literally eavesdropping in the corner like it’s his full-time job. I also talked IRL streaming gear because that’s my real life: I’m obsessed with how tiny my new kit is, I run my stream buttons off an iPad with remote desktop, and I’m testing the new camera at Disneyland on darker rides (Haunted Mansion style) to see if the low light is actually better. Big food day, big hangout day, and hopefully you can finally see stuff in the dark.
