About This Video

In this video I’m talking through a question I keep asking myself: which dog nail grinder is the best? I’ve tried a bunch, and the truth is a lot of them are “fine”… but they don’t solve my real problem. I have two dogs who literally hate having their nails done, so if a grinder takes too long, it doesn’t matter if it’s decent or even quieter than average—my dogs are still stressed and I’m still stuck. I show you a few of the grinders I’ve been using, including smaller Casfuy models and the Lucky Tail. They work, but for my dogs they take forever, and that extra time makes nail care harder, not easier. Even when I’m using food (yes, sometimes it’s “a chicken for every nail”), a LickiMat, or a Kong, one of my dogs freezes and the other pulls and struggles. I’m also clear about what I’m not doing: I’m certainly not using nail clippers. I share the newest grinder I’m trying next—a stronger Casfuy 6-speed—and I’ll update you in another video when I actually do the nails on camera. I also explain how to find all the grinders (and lots of other items) in my Amazon store, so you can choose what works best for your dog, and I’d love to hear what ends up working for you.
