2021 What are the smartest steps in creating an online course and where to host it- My 3 favorite ways to host (plus hacks) both free and paid courses. I'll share what will make you the most money at the end in your budget report. How to set up for good marketing and sales. No web design or LMS experience needed. I love Udemy (I do share pros and cons of it) and I have my own website. You decide from my options. 1. YouTube (practice run or free) 2. Udemy #1 favorite course site (free or paid courses with reasonable split) 3. WordPress (LifterLMS plugin) be prepared for student technical questions and paying for ads, but keep 100% of purchases I have tried various software, plugins, funnels, and a few LMS plugins. They are free to several hundred dollars every month. Do not pay hundreds a month with little following while building it before it is even live. Marketers have big budgets. Start today with scripting and filming then editing! It is mega rewarding to have an online course (or seven). How to create an online course WordPress? LifterLMS free plugin with WordPress has many video tutorials to teach you step by step. It is fully free no watermarks- if you want to sell courses with Stripe or PayPal then $99 each per year. Timewise, it is much better to start with an easier option than WordPress self-hosting if you do not have time for website maintenance and student's technical questions or problems. I have looked into: Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, Ninja, Clickfunnels, Convertkit. I prefer free or low cost... and not using tracking cookies of visitors and hours figuring out the funnels and ads. Or go all the way with a CMS that includes course hosting, email and ad managament, and community features (Gohighlevel).
