If you open your AirPods case and see one AirPod dead while the other is fine, I know exactly how annoying that is—and it’s also one of the most common AirPods problems I see. In this video I walk you through a universal fix that works on basically any AirPods model. First, I explain the #1 cause: the case battery. When your case drops under about 10%, it often can’t reliably charge both AirPods, so it’ll charge one and leave the other behind (whether that’s intentional by Apple or just a bug, it happens a lot). My biggest tip is simple: keep your case charged above 10% to prevent this from coming back. If your case has plenty of battery and you’re still dealing with one AirPod not charging, I show you the quick “reseat” method—remove the AirPod and place it back in while watching the case light blink to confirm it’s recognized and charging. After that, we go into cleaning the charging contacts on both the AirPod stems and inside the case using a microfiber cloth and a soft interdental brush to clear any dirt that blocks charging. And if none of that works, I show you how to reset AirPods (hold the back button about 20 seconds until the light flashes amber). If you’ve tried charging, cleaning, and resetting and it still won’t charge, it’s likely hardware—at that point, Apple support is the move.
