In this video I’m unboxing, speed building, reviewing, and then modding the brand new LEGO City 60487 Yellow Taxi (January 2026). It’s a 5+ set with 122 pieces, and in the UK it’s £12.99—which I immediately thought was a bit odd pricing-wise when you compare it to other small City cars. Inside the box you get three numbered plastic bags, a chunky base piece for the car, and a pretty thick instruction booklet… with the usual 5+ “use your hands” pages that I’ll keep calling out because it’s a complete waste of paper. The actual build takes about 10–15 minutes and, overall, it’s a nice little City vehicle—plus the big win here is there are no stickers. The taxi prints, the screen print, and even the battery detail under the opening hood are all printed elements, which is brilliant. My main nitpick is the exposed studs on the sides; LEGO could’ve included two 1x6 yellow tiles and it would’ve looked so much cleaner. I also think it looks a bit too sporty for a taxi, so I show a simple tile fix and then take it further by rebuilding it into a roof-down, modern sports car-style mod (using a few extra parts). I finish by comparing the two looks and asking which one you’d rather add to a LEGO City layout.
