In this video I unbox, speed build, and review LEGO City 60486 EV Supercar, which released on 1st January 2026. Here in the UK it’s £9, and at first glance it gave me “last year’s City sports car” vibes with that half red/half black look. Inside the box you get two paper bags (not numbered, so you’re opening both at once), a loose base piece, and one surprisingly thick instruction booklet. The 5+ “use your hands on every page” gimmick is still a waste of paper to me, but you can scan the QR in the LEGO Builder app to register it and grab 20 Insider points. The build took me about 12 minutes and it’s dead straightforward—yet it properly impressed me. I actually took it apart right after finishing because there are some genuinely interesting parts in here for a small 5+ City set: a trans-red 2x4 plate, a fused curved plate/plate combo, a new halfway-point bracket, and some very handy two-plates-tall slopes. Once rebuilt, the car looks sleek and surprisingly “junior Speed Champions”, especially being six-wide. My main nitpicks are the plain 2x2 round tile wheel covers and a few exposed studs, but a quick swap to Speed Champions-style rims and a couple of tiles makes it look miles better—then it’s straight onto the streets of my LEGO City.
