In this video I’m unboxing, building, and reviewing LEGO City 60043 Prisoner Transport, a 5–12 set from the 2014 Police wave (released 1st Jan 2014, retired 31st Dec 2015). I talk through the box, the old-school numbered plastic bags, and the instruction booklet—plus I have a proper nostalgic moment over the classic LEGO City adverts and display scenes at the back. Those pages used to give me loads of inspiration, and it’s still fun looking back now that I’m building my own LEGO City one baseplate at a time. I go over the minifigures (a pretty generic cop and crook) and the accessories, including the comical ball-and-chain element you don’t really see much anymore. Then I get into the main build: the prisoner transport truck. Even though it’s about 12 years old, I genuinely think this design could be released today—it looks tough, armored, and heavy duty, and the white/blue/dark grey combo still holds up. I cover the play features (roof hatch, doors, barred windows, and the escape routes that make you wonder how LEGO City Police ever keep anyone locked up), and I give my verdict: for the money—especially if you find it cheap on eBay—this is one of the better prisoner transport trucks LEGO City has done in years.
