In this review I unbox and build LEGO 40820, the Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure — the latest in LEGO’s upscaled minifigure line. It’s set number 40820, 10+, 761 pieces, released 1st October 2025, and it’s a LEGO Store exclusive at a slightly weird £47 in the UK. I run through what’s in the box (seven numbered bags, one instruction booklet, 249 steps across 99 pages), and I flag my biggest worry going in: that big printed front panel piece, because I’d already seen people having print issues. After about an hour and a half, I’ve got Santa built and on the desk, and overall it’s a really fair recreation of the minifigure it’s based on. The face is absolutely nailed, the hat is cleverly done, and there’s even the usual little Easter egg inside the head if you build these sets. There are a few nitpicks though: no Santa minifigure included (which genuinely surprised me), no back printing, and I’d have loved the belt print to continue a bit further on the slopes. Mine isn’t “pink” like some people’s, but the white on the printed panel could do with a touch more ink. Still, it’s a fun, well-paced build, it’s poseable, and the best part for a Christmas display is it actually fits back in the box for storage.
