In this video I unbox, speed build, and review LEGO set 40776 Hot Chocolate Stand (10+, 256 pieces) — a festive little promotional build that was only available for a limited time to LEGO Insiders during the Insiders Weekend and Black Friday events on LEGO.com. Because it wasn’t sold normally in shops, I also chat about how you can still grab one on the aftermarket (I’ve seen plenty on eBay for around £20). I take a proper look at the limited-edition style box, what’s inside (five numbered paper-style bags, three large plates, a small-but-thick instruction booklet, and a tiny sticker sheet with just three stickers), then crack on with the build. Once it’s finished, the whole thing is basically a giant upscaled mug turned into a little coffee kiosk — overflowing “chocolate” with a candy cane and marshmallows, plus spill detailing around the base. I go over the seating area, the Christmas tree, the serving window, the stickered signage, and a few fun details like the printed menu tile and the odd “missing poster” for Cataclause. I also point out my nitpicks: I’m not a huge fan of the green banding (I’d have preferred all red like the classic mug), the table uses ingots so mugs don’t sit nicely, and the removable roof leaves a slight gap that breaks the overflowing illusion. Minifigure-wise it’s a customer and a worker with familiar torso prints, great hot chocolate mug accessories, and surprisingly both have alternate faces — even if the worker’s sunglasses feel a bit random for a winter village. I finish by placing it straight into my Winter Village display next to the tourist kiosk and by the train station.
