We all know the LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean is pretty good… but I set myself a little challenge: what if I stripped out all the time travel gubbins and turned it into a regular, stock DeLorean? The idea was to make it feel like a proper Speed Champions-style car while changing as little as possible, so it still looks like the same build—just “back to normal”. I’d already done the digital design and made instructions, so this video is me properly testing the build in real bricks and making sure it actually works for you. I recommend starting from scratch (open all the bags and follow my instructions) rather than building the official set first and then backtracking. You don’t get numbered bags with a Rebrickable MOC, but that’s just part of the fun. In the end, you only need 40 different part types (95 extra parts total), which cost me about £12 here in the UK—plus most of the official set parts carry over. I talk through the build, show what’s left over from the time machine version, and I even tweak the stickers by cutting up the official sheet to extend that black stripe.
