This is the brand new LEGO City Taxi for January 2026 (60487), and yeah… it’s pretty cool, but to me it just looked a bit too sporty to be a proper taxi. Call me crazy, but it’s not what I expected for a classic city cab. So instead of settling, I took it apart and put my creative brain to good use—turning the set into two separate builds: a modern convertible sports car and a proper LEGO City-style taxi that actually fits my layout. First up, I show the sports car mod I made from the taxi using only a handful of extra parts. It ends up looking almost Speed Champions-style (it even gives me Mercedes vibes), and I’m genuinely happy with how it turned out. Then, because I still needed a taxi for my LEGO City, I revisited my own classic New York-style cab MOC, updated it with a few colour swaps, and worked in the new exclusive printed parts from the official set. The result is long, low, sleek, seats two minifigures, has an easy removable roof, and doesn’t rely on stickers—though you can add optional licence plates if you want.
