About This Video

Saying hello from Jeonju (전주) — an easy KTX trip from Seoul that totally surprised me with how vibey and peaceful it can feel. In this Korea Diaries vlog, Tommy and I stayed inside the Hanok Village in a traditional-style Airbnb (with a modern twist, thank goodness), then basically did the best kind of travel: no research, no strict plan, just walking around and letting the little alleys, rooftops, and cafés pull us in. I take you through the Jeonju Hanok Village experience (yes, the hanbok rentals are everywhere and it’s definitely a vibe), a quick coffee + dessert break, and even the super-random-but-amazing foot bath café situation — genuinely such a relaxing way to break up all the walking. For dinner, we followed our host’s recommendation and tried a local traditional set meal with tons of banchan and rice (so satisfying, and the price point was honestly great). Day two is rainy-but-cozy: brunch at the prettiest café, a little shopping moment (we did some damage…), trying Jeonju street snacks like the “10 cent bread,” and walking up to a mural street that’s part of the city’s initiative to brighten older neighborhoods. We end with a traditional tea house experience that felt like stepping into a Korean home — exactly the kind of unique Jeonju-only moment I wanted to share.
