In this video, I’m announcing the pattern testers for my Designer Inspired Crochet Bucket Hat Pattern Contest—and yes, I’m also sharing the yarn give-away winners with the little twist I mentioned. I love doing fun community challenges like this because it gets us crocheting together, comparing notes, and helping each other get the best final pattern possible. This first part of the contest was all about getting the PDF into the hands of a few testers so we can make sure the sizing, stitch counts, and instructions are super clear before it goes out more widely. I also go over the rules and eligibility again, because I’m serious about keeping it fair: you had to be subscribed (and I need to be able to see it), like and share the video, and comment with the word “Tester” plus your opinion on the buttons for my cardigan. I list out the testers I selected (with a note that a couple were pending subscription status), and I remind winners about the timeline to email me and the expectation to complete the hat using the specified yarn (yarn not provided) within the testing window.
