I keep it beginner-friendly and I take you step-by-step from the very start so you can get that fun, bold “designer” look without feeling overwhelmed. If you’ve been wanting a bucket hat that’s cute, coordinated, and actually wearable, this one is such a satisfying project. I start with the double magic circle and build out the crown, then we move into the middle of the hat where the shaping really starts to come together. I also show you the X-stitch, how I change colors cleanly, and then we get into the shell stitch rows that give the hat that signature texture. After that, I’ll take you through the brim section, including how I place shells in the brim so it keeps that pretty look while still sitting nicely. And of course, I finish up with weaving in ends so your hat looks polished and ready to wear.
