Day 6 of my 30 Days Challenge and I’m back with a proper in-depth review—Project Elixir ROM 3.11 on Android 13. In this video I covered everything you actually care about before flashing: the new kernel, August 5, 2023 security patch, SafetyNet status, camera experience, launcher features, quick settings smoothness, and the full “Essence” customization hub. I also checked KernelSU support using the KernelSU app, and it shows unsupported—so out of the box this ROM is not rooted. I tested SafetyNet and it passed, so banking apps and other sensitive apps should run fine. You also get the MIUI camera with modes like photo/video/slow motion plus a 48MP option, and I verified the Google Photos unlimited backup message is present. Customization-wise, Essence gives you themes, fonts, icon packs, status bar tweaks, QS styles, gestures (like swipe to screenshot), and my most-needed feature: Advanced Restart (reboot to recovery/bootloader). Battery backup is excellent in my usage, and you even get extras like removing screenshot restrictions and unlocking higher FPS for games. But yes—there’s a bug. Lock screen shortcuts can get stuck showing the flashlight icon even after changing it, and there’s also a minor “Sami Parts” recents glitch. Still, I personally like this ROM a lot and I can recommend it as a daily driver despite these minor issues.
