In this long-term review, I’m looking back at the Vivo X90 Pro and seeing how it actually holds up after the honeymoon phase. On this Concept Creator channel I’m focusing more on the overall experience—software, updates, battery life and performance—while my other channel (Through Jermaine’s Lens) goes deeper on camera-only. The X90 Pro I’m using is the global version with Funtouch OS on top of Android 13, and in my longer-term use it’s been smooth with no weird issues or lag. One thing I’m happy Vivo improved: I used to get an ad notification every time I installed a game, and that has been very much limited now. Battery life really depends on what you do. With normal use (browsing, some camera), I’m usually around 6–7 hours screen-on time and I can sometimes hit 8 if I’m not shooting a lot. Gaming changes the story: it can drop to about 5 hours or less because the Dimensity 9200 gets toasty, and that heat also impacts comfort and can lead to dropped frames in longer sessions. Camera-wise, that 1-inch main sensor still holds up really well—supporting cameras may not be the absolute best versus some rivals, but they’re definitely not bad. Overall I can recommend the X90 Pro, but if you can get the X90 Pro Plus, I’d still pick that for the better CPU and fingerprint scanner—especially if you game a lot.
