About This Video

In this video I’m talking about my first week with the Vivo X200 Pro—this is not a full review, just my impressions so far after actually living with it. I quickly go over the key specs (Dimensity 9400, 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED 120Hz with up to 4,500 nits, and that big 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired / 30W wireless charging), and then I focus on what matters in real use: battery, cameras, display, and the fingerprint scanner. The biggest surprise for me has been battery life. I drove to France (a little over 4 hours) with the phone running navigation at around half brightness, and I still had about 61% left when I arrived—roughly 39–40% drain for that entire trip, which is really solid. After a full day of shooting photos and video, I still ended up with around 21% left, which is exactly the kind of endurance I want when I’m using a phone as a camera. Camera-wise, I’ve been impressed—great zoom capabilities, and the images have a bit more contrast and “feel” to them, similar to what I like about Vivo’s approach. I do call out the AI behavior though: in certain shots (like when the moon is in frame), it can look a bit artificial, and I’d rather see what the hardware is actually doing. I also touch on the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner: it’s fast and reliable, just not as nice as the larger, quicker implementations I’ve used on phones like the X90 Pro+ and X80 Pro.
