In this short review I take a look at the AceMagic AMR5, an even smaller mini PC than the AM0 Pro I checked out not too long ago. I start with the unboxing, and yeah—I care about that experience. It comes in a solid quality box with protective foam, and inside you get what you need to get going: the mini PC itself, the power adapter, and an HDMI cable. Then I break down what you’re actually getting for the money. The Ryzen 7 5700U version starts around €369 right now, and for that you’re getting 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 pre-installed. You can also expand storage easily by opening the side panel. I go over the ports and layout (USB-A, USB-C, DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, gigabit ethernet) and the top switch for silent/auto/performance—if you’re gaming, I’d put it on performance even though it gets a bit louder. For gaming, my “worth it?” is pretty clear: simple games run decently, but heavier titles struggle. Fortnite LEGO was fine at 1080p, but regular Fortnite dropped frames into the mid-20s and below, and Hogwarts on low settings didn’t do great either. Where the AMR5 makes sense is as a portable work PC or a small 4K media box you can take anywhere and plug into a TV.
