I can't believe how delicious these burgers are! Kids love them. An easy way to get nutritious organ meat into your diet. Organ meat, also known as offal, is popular because it's so nutritious. But if you don't care for the taste these burgers are a great way to "sneak" organ meat into your diet. You will love these burgers! Try them and let me know in the comments how you like them. INGREDIENTS: 1 pound ground beef with heart, liver and kidney ½ cup diced onion ½ teaspoon sea salt 1 egg ¼ cup parmesan cheese Optional: Pepper to taste and any other herbs or spices you like (dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh parsley), ¼ cup cooked white rice or bread crumbs Beef tallow INSTRUCTIONS: Place the ground beef in a large mixing bowl. Add the onion, sea salt, egg and parmesan cheese. Stir together. The mixture will be very moist. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Lightly brush with tallow. Use a large spoon to scoop ⅓ cup or so of the beef mixture onto the skillet. Repeat with remaining beef mixture. Fry for 3 to 5 minutes until browned on one side. Use a spatula to carefully turn the burgers. Cook for the same amount of time on the other side. Lightly press the burgers to release the moisture and fully cook through the center. Transfer the cooked burgers to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with your favorite burger toppings.
