This masa harina porridge recipe is an easy breakfast option. 🌽 🥣 🍒 RECIPE Masa Harina Porridge with Cherry Compote Serves 2 to 4 INGREDIENTS: PORRIDGE: 2 cups milk (I used coconut milk) 1/4 cup masa harina 2 tablespoons coconut sugar or brown sugar ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom CHERRY COMPOTE: 10 ounces frozen or fresh cherries, pitted Pinch sea salt 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey INSTRUCTIONS: Place the coconut milk, masa harina, coconut sugar and ground cardamom in a medium size saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, whisking often. Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered, for about four minutes or until thick and creamy. Whisk often during cooking. Meanwhile, make the compote. Place the frozen cherries in a small saucepan. Add the pinch of sea salt and maple syrup. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 5 to 10 minutes.
